School News

Only one more week until our Halloween Family Dance. This is a family dance and adults must stay to supervise their children.

Admission by donation to support our school. Come have your dinner here! There will be a concession run by grade five families. (BBQ hamburgers/veggie burgers, hot dogs, water, home baking, and popcorn). Pay by cash or cheque.

Please help your child fill out the song request sheet and return it to the school as there is a chance to win a prize if their name is drawn from the pumpkin.

Glow sticks will be available for sale at the reception table! Five for $1.00.

Remember to make your costumes not too scary or gory. Also keep toy guns, knives or swords safely at home.

Bring your family’s carved pumpkin to help decorate the stage. Pumpkins should be dropped off the morning of the 23rd, and then taken home after the dance.

If you are a baker, we welcome your baked goods to be sold at the concession. Just drop them off on Thursday afternoon or on the morning of the 23rd at the multi-purpose room.

It is never too late to volunteer to help out at the dance! Volunteer for a 1/2 hour of easy work and have fun too! Many hands make light work; see the jobs and sign up at  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0b44a9ac22aafc1-prospect   or contact Michele Hibbins at info@bluenestchildcare.com / 250-361-0992. Invite a friend to work with you and we’ll fill the shifts in no time.

Thanks to all who have already volunteered to decorate, bake and more!

Whole School Goldstream Park Field Trip is two weeks away! Parents are welcome to join in and participate in the exciting Salmon programs offered by park naturalists. The PAC will be providing hotdogs and a hot chocolate for each student. Please let your teacher know if you do not want your child to eat the food the PAC is providing.

Group 1 Classes: Mrs. Gladwin, Mrs. Harward, Mrs. Schwan & Mrs. Collett leave the school at 9:15 AM.

Group 2 Classes: Ms. Lail, Mrs. Hamilton, Ms Close and Mrs. Evans leave the school at 10:15 AM.

Our magazine fundraiser is in full swing.  There's only one week left to win a $25 gift certificate to Timeless Toys!  To order online go to www.qsp.ca and use our GROUP ONLINE ID: 4297669 or fill out the order form found in the package your child brought home.  To make things even easier you can use this link http://www.qsp.ca/4297669 or send it along to any friends, family or coworkers who might be interested.  Thanks for helping! Please remember to have forms back to the school by October 26th.  After that, you can still order online but sales won't count towards the prize.

Hockey Pool Update: Game on! Team Jakers is currently in the lead!
