School News

Please join us in thanking Jason, Midori and Anika Hillis who have generously donated the new popcorn machine to our school in exchange for our old one - which they are also donating to the Willis Point Association! We truly have a great group of parents at our school who are extremely generous. Thank you Hillis Family!

Indigo Adopt a School Program

There is one day left in the 2015 Indigo Adopt a School program – it ends tomorrow, Saturday October 10th at 11:59.59 EST. Make the most of the last day and adopt and donate to your local school. Thank you for your support and helping to put more books into the hands of Canadian children.

Colder Weather Has Arrived

Fall has arrived and with it has come cooler, wet weather. It is important to send your children to school dressed appropriately for the weather. We rarely keep the children inside during our recess times and that means they may be spending forty minutes outside on a cold, wet, windy day. In addition, if an earthquake should occur the children may be outside for an extended length of time.

Recipe of the Week

*New* Every week we will include a recipe submitted by a Prospect Lake parent. To submit your favourite recipe please email it to prospectlakepac@sd63.bc.ca and you may see it featured on our weekly update.

GRAVY WITHOUT ROAST DRIPPINGS

 2 Tbsp margarine

2 Tbsp flour

1 cup cold or cool water ( not warm)

1-3 tsp Chicken or Beef bouillon or base

Salt and pepper to taste.

Melt margarine in a microwave bowl (2cup size)

Stir in flavoring, then stir in the flour:  Slowly add water to blend.

Microwave on high, stirring every minute until mixture is thickened and mixed well.

Taste and add salt and pepper as desired.

1-2 Tbsp of milk may be added after the gravy is finished, to make it a little richer. This will also

thin it if it is too thick.

Makes about 2 cups of gravy.
