THIS WEEK'S LUNCH - HOT LUNCH TOMORROW
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday January 26th, is the hot lunch provided by This Week's Lunch.
A few reminders for children participating in hot lunch:
- All of the packaging needs to go home with your child. At Prospect Lake, we strive to provide children with litter less lunches, which means all packaging on hot lunch days needs to go home to be recycled and / or composted.
- Please send your child with a nutritious snack and water bottle. It might be worthwhile sending a lunch kit with an ice pack to store any leftover food.
If your child is not participating in tomorrow's hot lunch program, please ensure you have discussed this with your child to help prevent disappointment.
PLEASE NOTE: If your child will be absent and you would prefer to pick up their hot lunch, you can claim it at Mrs. Blackwell's desk BEFORE 3PM. If you would like a sibling to pick up an absent child's lunch, they can also claim it at Mrs. Blackwell's desk. You do not need to email Mrs. Blackwell or your child's teacher to make alternate arrangements; all unclaimed meals will be left at the front office.
If you have any questions about this change, please connect with us at prospectlakepac@gmail.com
Enjoy your meal!
** HOT LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED **
We are looking for 5 volunteers to help
with this week's hot lunch tomorrow, Friday January 26th.
Time: 11:00am, approximately for 45 minutes
Date: Friday January 26, 2024
How does it work? Volunteers sign in at the front office and then meet outside in the undercover area by the parking lot. Together, the volunteers will help divide up the orders and deliver the food to the classrooms. Once food is delivered and we have tidied up the undercover area, you are free to carry on with your day. Since this is the first time in a while that all students are eating at the same time, we will see how long this will take – probably an hour.
Do I need to wear a mask? Masking is optional, and choices are respected.
Do I need my criminal record check? No. For hot lunch volunteering you are not required to have your criminal record check completed as you will not be alone with any children.
Can I park at the school? Yes. The lower lot is available for parking. If the lot is full, additional parking can be found at Whitehead Park, street parking on Prospect Lake Road, street parking on Sparton Road, and at the Prospect Lake Community Hall.
How many volunteers are needed? 5 volunteers please.
Contact: If you are able to help out, or, you are not able to make your volunteer commitment, or if you have any questions, please contact Sarah at sarah.r.angus@gmail.com or text/phone 250-744-6196.
