WEST COAST SEEDS FUNDRAISER – ORDERING AVAILABLE NOW!!

Welcome to the West Coast Seeds Fundraiser! This is an amazing fundraising opportunity for our school.  When you order your seeds, you will pay the original package price, however, West Coast Seeds donates 40% off each package price back to the school!  All funds raised go directly towards our children and enhancing their learning experiences at the school.  We encourage you to invite your family and friends to order their seeds with us too!

This year, ALL size A product packages will be sold through the fundraising site this year.  There are over 30 pages of seeds (vegetable, herb, and flower seeds) available!!  Detailed information about the fundraiser can be found HERE.

Ordering is available now through Friday February 2, 2024.

KERNELS POPCORN

The Grade 5 students are doing another Popcorn Fundraiser to help support their end of year trip to Camp Imadene.

  • Flavours available: Buttersalt & White Cheddar
  • Price $2.75 per bag
  • Orders taken through MunchaLunch.
  • Orders due today, Friday January 19th

Popcorn day has been re-scheduled for Friday February 2nd (in lieu of January 17th).

Please note, if you already placed an order for the original January 17th popcorn day, you do not need to re-order for the February 2nd date.

HOT LUNCH - THIS WEEK'S LUNCH

All hot lunch orders for the "This Week's Lunch" service are due today, Friday January 19th by midnight.

You can order your child's meal through the MunchaLunch system. 

Hot lunches are meant to be a fun opportunity for students.  If this should pose any financial hardship to your family, please contact Sarah at sarah.r.angus@gmail.com or the PAC at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

JANUARY PAC MEETING

ALL parents and guardians are invited to join us on Tuesday January 23, 2024, for our Parent Advisory Committee meeting.  The meeting is held at the school in the Learning Commons (aka. the library) or from the comfort of your home via Microsoft Teams.  School doors open at 6:45pm.  The meeting will start at 7:00pm. 

There are two door prizes available at the end of the meeting, children’s books from local authors.  Cynthia Mackey has donated her first book Katie Shaeffer Pancake Maker, and Stephanie Rabbers, a previous PLES family, has donated a signed copy of her first book The Mudhole, A Story About Being True to Yourself.

When joining us at school, please enter through the main front doors, sign in at Mrs. Blackwell’s desk and proceed directly to the Learning Commons.  Masking is optional and choices are respected.

Reminder of the on-demand workshops for struggling students on a range of topics including social emotional wellbeing, specific learning disabilities and supporting neurodivergent students.  

There are 24 sessions recorded as well as several other resources on topics including: helping students with readingwritingschool avoidance and refusalstructuring homework time for successwhat to do when mistakes overwhelm neurodivergent kidssupporting students with ADHD or autism in schoolwhat really motivates kids and many more.  

These resources have been financially supported by Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) across our district and are meant for everyone.  

PAC YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISING

Please note that the following year-round fundraisers bring in money that goes back to the PAC.  The funds raised go towards supporting our children by enhancing their experiences at Prospect Lake Elementary School.

GRADE 5 YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISER

Country Grocer

Please save your receipts from Country Grocer and bring them back to the school.

  • There is a metal bucket on top of the wooden PAC mailbox beside Mrs. Blackwell’s desk that you / your child can place them into.
  • Country Grocer provides a percentage back via gift cards from all receipts we return.  
  • The money raised from the sale of the gift cards helps support the current year's Grade 5 class with their year-end activities.
