BOTTLE DRIVE

Save your empties!  Our first bottle drive of the school year is on Sunday October 22.  Please check your recycling, ask your friends, neighbours, and co-workers for donations – every bottle counts!  A complete list of acceptable returnable empties can be found HERE.  Last year we made $3100 with our bottle drives.  All funds raised go towards new opportunities for our children!

13 volunteers are needed to run the bottle drive.  Students accompanied by adults are welcome and encouraged to come and volunteer as well.  Volunteer shifts are 2hrs each with lots of time options available.  This is a great way to support the school, meet new people, and have some fun at the same time.

DATE: Sunday October 22nd, 2023

TIME: 10:00am-2:00pm

LOCATION: Prospect Lake Elementary School Parking Lot

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP: HERE

What is a PAC class representative?  What are their responsibilities?

  • someone that has an interest in supporting their child’s teacher and assisting if needed,
  • someone that is comfortable emailing the other parents in your child’s classroom to organize a group winter and year-end gift (the PAC Executive will send out a template to personalize), as well as sharing any relevant or time sensitive information, and,
  • someone available to attend monthly PAC meetings in person or virtually (third Tuesday of each month).

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, or would like to share with another parent in your child’s class, please sign-up HERE.

Please check on the following links for two exciting opportunities:

LOST AND FOUND

Is your child missing a shoe?  Sweatshirts or jackets missing?  Water bottles or other lunch containers didn’t make it home, perhaps it’s time to ask your child to check the lost and found as it is FULL!!  The lost and found can be found by the entrance to the gym.  It is available daily for parents to check it over as well.

For those attending Games Night, the October PAC Meeting, or their child’s Parent Teacher Conference, the opportunity will be available for you to take a peek too.

PAC YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISING

Please note that the following year-round fundraisers bring in money that goes back to the PAC.  The funds raised go towards supporting our children by enhancing their experiences at Prospect Lake Elementary School.

GRADE 5 YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISER

Country Grocer

Please save your receipts from Country Grocer and bring them back to the school.

  • There is a metal bucket on top of the wooden PAC mailbox beside Mrs. Blackwell’s desk that you / your child can place them into.
  • Country Grocer provides a percentage back via gift cards from all receipts we return.
  • The money raised from the sale of the gift cards helps support the current year's Grade 5 class with their year-end activities.
