UPCOMING PAC MEETING & AGM

This month’s PAC meeting will be held on Tuesday May 23.  We will have our regular PAC meeting starting at 7:00pm with our AGM to follow.  Please keep an eye on your inbox as a letter will be coming home soon with important information regarding the PAC.

Every PAC Executive position is accepting nominations; President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications, COPACS Representative and Members-at-Large.  Please note, all positions can be co-chaired.  We have a great set of parents that would happily help support new people transition into their roles.

We also need an Elections Officer that can help facilitate the elections.

If you are interested in any of the PAC Executive positions or if you are willing to be the Elections Officer, please connect with us at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

SUPPORT OUR GRADE 5 GRADUATES WITH THEIR FUNDRAISERS!!

Each year our graduating class of grade 5’s celebrates their end of Elementary School with a day trip to a local camp.  This year our students are heading to Camp Imadene.  As the cost of everything has gone up significantly, our graduating class of 63 students need to raise $100 each to cover camp, plus an additional $30 to cover the cost of their yearbooks.  To help raise money to cover these costs, there are two on-going fundraisers available:

  • Is your recycling filling up with empty beverage containers and milk jugs?  Looking for somewhere to return them?  Why not bring them to the Glanford Bottle Depot!  Our Grade 5 graduating class is hosting an on-going fundraiser.  You can drop off your empties and donate the deposit under the account "Prospect Lake Grade 5 Fundraiser”.  All the donations raised will go towards helping these students pay for their year-end day trip to Camp Imadene, and to help cover the cost of other graduation activities and expenses.
  • If you shop at Country Grocer, our Grade 5 students would happily take your receipts off your hands.  When you return your receipts to the school (bucket by Mrs. Blackwell’s desk), we tally up the total spent and submit it to Country Grocer.  Country Grocer then gives us a portion of our cost spent back in gift cards.  Our grade 5 parent reps then sell the gift cards to anyone that would like one (usually in $50 increments) and the cash received goes back towards the grade 5 graduating classes year end activities.  This is a year-round and on-going fundraiser.  Any money left at the end of the year gets carried over to next year’s graduating class.  It benefits everyone!

If you have any questions about the above fundraisers, if you would like to purchase some of the Country Grocer gift cards, or if you would like to support our graduates in a different way, please contact Sam at sambeecher@hotmail.com

LOST AND FOUND

Missing a jacket?  Did only one shoe make it home?  The lost and found is over-flowing at the school.  Please ask your child to take a moment to look through and see if any item might belong to them.  Adults, the lost and found, is available to check in the undercover area before and after school.  Any labelled items have been returned to students.
