BOTTLE
DRIVE & TREE CHIPPING
Our
first bottle drive of 2023 is this weekend. Tree chipping by donation is available too!
When: Sunday January 8th
Where: Prospect Lake Elementary School - Under Cover Area & Parking Lot
Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm
We are in need of 15
volunteers to help make this bottle drive a success (students are welcome to accompany their
parent/guardian)! Volunteer sign up is done in 1.5 and 2hr time blocks. If we are unable to
gather enough volunteers by Thursday we will need to cancel. Remember, all funds raised go directly back
to our students and furthering their indoor and outdoor education. If you’re available to help, please sign
HERE.
You
can also find tree chipping available at the school on the same day at the same
time. Chipping is done by donation. We
do need a parent volunteer to be our liaison with the company, as well as a few
volunteers to assist if needed.
The liaison’s job is quite simple. We need somebody to connect with the company to find out some basic information – do we need volunteers? Do we need to arrange for a few parents with trucks to pick up trees? What can we do to make this a successful event? The company has already been booked, the date and time have been set. If this feels like a good fit for you, or you are interested in volunteering, please sign up HERE.

WINTER
CENTERPIECE CONTAINER RECYCLING
We hope you enjoyed your centerpiece. If you held onto your green plastic container, please send it back to school with your child this week so they can be recycled for next years activity.
COPACS SURVEY
Our District Parent
Advisory Committee (called COPACS – Confederation of Parents’ Advisory Councils
of Saanich) wants to hear from district families about speakers and
resources that would be helpful to support you and your child(ren) grow and
learn at school.
The COPACS Parent/Guardian Resource Committee has created a short survey for parents and guardians - please share with others and provide your thoughts by January 3rd. Our school PAC will hear about the results and can potentially coordinate speakers and resources with other schools.
Any questions or concerns? Please contact copacssd63@gmail.com.
