ART CARD ORDERS
All
art card samples have gone home with the students.
Instructions for ordering your child's art cards can be found inside of the card. If your child has been away and you were unable to collect their card, you can find ordering instructions HERE. Please email the PAC if you need the ordering code.
Order deadline is Monday December 5th - later orders cannot be accommodated.
This year there are options to order cards, plaques, puzzles and ornaments. Your ordering code can be shared with friends and family for them to order as well. Delivery will be through the children when orders arrive at the school.
Mixed packages of cards are available for ordering through the MunchaLunch website for $18.80/set. These cards are sold in sets of 8 cards with 8 different pieces of art. Orders of mixed packages close at midnight Sunday Dec 4th.
Please be aware that due to student absences during the time period when the art was created, as well as the deadline for delivery, some children were not able to participate. If you are unsure if you should have received a sample card or have any questions, please email the PAC at prospectlakepac@gmail.com and we will look into it.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
1. WINTER CENTERPIECE PREPARATION
We are still in need of 9 volunteers
to help with the preparation of the whole school winter centerpiece
activity. This is a beautiful and unique
craft that each child will prepare and bring home. However, there is a lot of preparation
required to facilitate this activity and we need lots of
help! If you can donate even an
hour of your time, we would greatly appreciate it. The more volunteers the quicker the job will
be.
Date: Thursday December 8th
Location: 5021 West Saanich Rd. - Indoor Floral Studio (up a long driveway)
Time: 9:00-11:30am: need 3 volunteers, OR, 11:30am-2:00pm: need 6 volunteers
Volunteers will assist with cutting boughs and greenery into smaller pieces. You will need garden clippers for this activity, and gloves are recommended but not required. Please sign up HERE if you are interested.
2. WINTER CONCERT – GYM DECORATING
We are looking for 4 volunteers to help decorate the gym in preparation for the winter concert. The volunteers will help hang the mittens the families decorated. If you’re able to help on Wednesday December 14th between 9-11am, please sign-up HERE.
3. BOTTLE DRIVE
Save your empties! We
are having a bottle drive on Sunday January 8th from 10am-2pm at the school. If you’re available to help, please sign-up HERE.
4. TREE CHIPPING
We are having a tree chipping by donation on Sunday January
8 from 10am-2pm at the school to coincide with the bottle drive. We are looking for a coordinator / liaison
including a few volunteers. This is a
simple task. The company has already
been booked, the date and time has been set.
All we require is somebody to be the contact going forward and seeing if
there is a need or potential to gather some parents with trucks to do tree pick-ups. If this feels like a good fit for
you, or you are interested in volunteering, please sign-up HERE.
PLES VOLUNTEERS –
CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
SD63 volunteers who volunteer directly with students are
required to complete a Criminal Record Check every three years.
Please apply online to the Ministry of Justice at justice.gov.bc.ca/criminalrecordcheck and use Access Code UV53DWHBYX. Your Criminal Record Check will
be sent to the School Board Office for review. Alternatively, you can
share the results of a previous CRC completed through the Ministry of Justice
within the past three years.
PLEASE
NOTE: The Criminal Records Review Program is implementing a new process for
Electronic Identity Verification using the BC Services Card. If you are using the BC Services Card to
access the online service for the first time you will be directed to activate
your card by video or alternatively you can do this in person through Service
BC. Once you receive notification from
BC Services that the verification process is complete, you will need to return
to the eCRC system to complete your request for Criminal Record Check with the
Saanich School District. Please see the eCRC User Guide and Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
Applicants
who do not have a BC Services Card can visit their catchment school office to
complete a 'Volunteer Consent to a Criminal Record Check' Form.
