PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC) MEETING

Thank you to everyone that attended our first PAC meeting of the year.  It was great to see new and returning faces.  We had a very successful meeting.  Our minutes and financial updates will be out with next week's reminders.

CORN ROAST & JELLYBEAN JAR RESULTS

Thank you to all the staff for the delicious corn!  It was wonderful to see so many people again at the school.

The Guess the Jellybean's results are in… There was a total of 216 jellybeans in the jar.  The winners are Harris with a guess of 212 and Thea with a guess of 220. Congratulations to both winners!  They have each been notified and will each receive a jar of jellybeans.

CLASS REPRESENTATIVES

We are still looking for parent / guardians to be a PAC class representative for each class in the school.  The class you choose should be one that your child is in.  This can also be a shared job!

Duties include assisting the teacher with communication to parents, helping to organize class events, liaison between the PAC on classroom issues, communicating PAC news with your class, and organizing a group gift at Christmas and at the end of the year for those families wishing to participate.  It would be helpful for the class rep to attend the monthly PAC meetings as well.  If you are interested, please sign-up HERE.  Any questions?  Just email the PAC at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

GRADE 5 REPS

We are looking for a few parents / guardians to be the Grade 5 class representatives.  This is different than the class rep role, as the Grade 5 Rep(s) are responsible for all communications between the Grade 5 students and families only; not the specific classes.  Duties include liaising with parents and school staff for grade 5 specific events and activities (ie. Grad clothing, the grade 5 class trip, graduation, and fundraising events).  If you’re interested in helping with this role, please sign-up HERE.  If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the PAC Executive at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

PLES NEW WEBSITE

The schools in SD63 have new websites.  Formerly, school messages were sent out to families via a subscription.  This will no longer apply.  The school website can be found at: https://prospectlake.saanichschools.ca/  Please check the school website on a regular basis for up-to-date information.  Scroll down to the bottom of the main page to find the “Latest School News” section and the “Upcoming Events”.  At times the school will send out emails to families.  Please check your junk mail to ensure your messages aren’t being missed.

THANK YOU!!

We would like to extend a BIG thank you to the following people for volunteering their time to help Mrs. Blackwell with the student package paperwork: Angela Formosa-Gray, Rebecca Wescott and Iris Scrunton.

YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISERS

Please help us raise funds for our children and school with these ongoing fundraisers:
