FUNDRAISERS

1. Hot Lunch – Subway!

This month we will be offering packaged Subway meal combos: a 6-inch sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, and an apple juice box.  Unfortunately, the supplier does not have a gluten free option available at this time; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  Orders can be placed on the Hot Lunch Website.

Please note the following dates:

Orders are due TODAY, Friday March 4 by 6pm; late orders can not be accommodated.

Hot Lunch date this month is a Thursday – March 10, 2022.

2. Spring Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser – March 4 thru 29

You are invited to support our school with the sweetest of fundraisers. The Purdy’s Easter Fundraiser is back for another year. Although we pay the same price online as you would in store, Purdy’s donates 25% back to the school, which in turn helps to better our children’s experiences.

Ordering is available now with a closing deadline of Tuesday March 29, 2022.

You can reach our fundraiser HERE or https://fundraising.purdys.com/

Campaign Customer Number #16280

Please feel free to pass along this link to any other family, friends, and co-workers.

Chocolate Pick Up will be TBA but sometime after April 5 and before April 11. Specifics will be available closer to the dates.

3. Bottle Drive – Sunday April 24, 2022

The next bottle drive is scheduled for Sunday April 24th from 10am-2pm.   Please save your empty beverage bottles, cans, cartons, plastic containers and “ready to drink” milk and plant-based beverage containers (milk jugs and almond milk cartons etc.)  Items like infant formula, meal replacement or dietary supplements, coffee cream and other coffee additives, whipping cream, buttermilk, drinkable yogurt and kefir are not refundable and can continue to be recycled through the blue box program).  For a complete list of acceptable containers, please see the Return-It-Depot website at: https://www.return-it.ca/beverage/products/

In order to run this fundraiser, we need a few volunteers to help with the sorting. It will only take a couple of hours and students are welcome to help as well. Please sign up at https://signupschedule.com/plespac  so we can ensure we have enough people throughout the day.

4. Spring Flowers

More details coming soon!

SAVE THE DATE – PARENT SOCIAL!!

On Friday May 27, 2022, we will host a fun evening event for all PLES parents at the Prospect Lake Hall! We are still in the very early stages of planning.  More details will come as we develop plans for the event.  If you are interested in volunteering on the planning committee, please contact Carolyn or Jacquie at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

ATTENTION GRADE 5 PARENTS

The plans for the grade 5 yearbook have begun and more details will be provided in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, we would like to start collecting photos!

We are looking for:

  • baby or toddler photos of your grade 5 student
  • photos of your grade 5 student on their own or with other grade five friends taken in a PLES school setting/context - this could include field trips, PLES events or hanging on the PLES playground.

Please email your photos to one of our Grade 5 Reps, Michelle McNally, at mandmmcnally@icloud.com.  Photos are due by Friday March 18, 2022.

FINAL PARENT EDUCATION WORKSHOP *REGISTER SOON*

Please join Dr. Allison Rees in her last virtual workshop of the series.

Boundaries: Hidden Patterns, Building Resilience and Boundaries – Thur. April 28, 2022, 7:00-9:00pm

Maintaining healthy boundaries and relationships. It’s important not only to respect children’s boundaries, it’s also essential to set our own firm boundaries for our children. In this workshop we will talk about those invisible lines around responsibility and relationships. When parents gain clarity of boundaries, the guesswork is taken out of parenting and setting limits.

To register, please contact the Keating PAC at keating.pac@gmail.com
