FUNDRAISERS

1. Bottle Drive

When: Sunday January 9, 2022

Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

Location: Prospect Lake Elementary School, under cover area

We look forward to collecting and sorting your empty returnable beverage containers this weekend!  If you have a sizable donation and are unable to transport your containers to the school, please send us an email. Covid safety protocols will be in place, and volunteers are needed.  If you can donate a portion of your time to assist with bottle collection and sorting, please email the PAC. We kindly request volunteers wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing.  Don’t forget to tell your family and friends, every bottle matters!

2. PLES Clothing Orders

Unfortunately, we are still awaiting news from the company. We hope to have an update for you soon.

3. West Coast Seeds

Our seeds fundraiser will be up and running soon.  Please stay tuned for more information.

SURVEYS

Road Work Construction Survey *Deadline: January 6, 2022*

If you currently drop off or pick up your child(ren) at the school, please take a moment to complete the following survey: https://www.sd63.bc.ca/prospect-lake-construction-survey This will help our Administration staff with initial planning.  Please indicate whether you are interested in using:

  1. A bus shuttle for pick-up and drop off from the Prospect Lake Hall to the Prospect Lake School via a school district bus, or,
  2. Take the school bus on an existing route. Please provide your address for planning purposes only.

Vaccine Mandate Survey *Deadline: January 12, 2022*

At the November COPACS meeting, the following motion passed unanimously:

Subject to the results of a parent survey, with a simple 50% majority in favour, COPACS will write a letter to the Saanich School Board requesting reconsideration of the policy regarding staff vaccination and speaking in favour of a vaccine mandate for all staff.

JANUARY PARENTING WORKSHOP

There is still space available for January’s Parenting Workshop with Dr. Allison Rees.

Topic: Sidestepping the Power Struggle

Taking the guesswork out of many parenting concerns. In this workshop we focus on practical solutions to questions like "Do consequences work, if so when and how?", "How do we get kids to take responsibility?", "How do we get out of the negative relationship patterns like nagging and power struggles?" Great information for parents with children of any age.

Date & Time: Monday, January 17, 2022, 7:00-9:00pm

YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISERS

Please help us raise funds for our children and school with these ongoing fundraisers:  

  • Please save your receipts from Country Grocer and your Canadian Tire money. Place them in the bucket on top of the wooden PAC mailbox beside Mrs. Blackwell’s desk 
  • If you shop at Cobb’s Bread, please mention Prospect Lake School before you pay. 5% of what you spend comes back to the school. 
  • If you shop at Peninsula Co-op or buy gas at Save on Gas, please quote membership number #79184
