Welcome Back Prospect Lake Elementary Families!
by Prospect Lake PAC - Thursday, 14 September 2017, 4:17 PM

The Prospect Lake Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC) would like to welcome families to another great year at Prospect Lake Elementary!

Our little school has grown to 235 students and it’s wonderful to see all their smiling faces ready to tackle this new school year.

The PAC invites you to get involved and help enrich your child’s education by attending PAC meetings and volunteering.

As a parent/legal guardian of a child in attendance at Prospect Lake you are automatically a voting member of the Prospect Lake PAC and can play a very important role in your child's school experience.

Following are the dates for the first three PAC meetings:

Tuesday, September 19th  - Click HERE to download Meeting Agenda

Thursday, October 19th

Tuesday, November 21st

Meetings take place at the school library and start at 7:00 PM but we welcome everyone from 6:45 PM on for snacks and coffee/tea. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Welcome Principal Ko!

On behalf of the Prospect Lake Elementary School community, the PAC would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Principal Anita Ko. We trust you’ll soon love Prospect Lake as much as we do.

Open House & Corn Roast

We hope to see you at the Open House & Corn Roast on Thursday, September 21, from 5:00 - 6:45 PM. This is a great opportunity for families to meet our new Principal and mingle with school staff and other families in our school community.

Calling all Mac Taccers:

The school has purchased another 700 home reading books, and we have been asked to cover them with mac tac. We have organized two mac tac 'party's' next week.

The first will be on Monday September 18th, after drop off, at Sheri Ramsi's house. Siblings are welcome.

The second one is on Wednesday September 20th, at the school library, also after drop off. (We would prefer for siblings not to come along to this one since there will be classes exchanging books at the same time).

If you can help part of either one of those mornings, please email tynke.landsmeer@gmail.com and she will provide you with more details. It would be helpful if you brought a sharp pair of scissors and a ruler.

Online Ordering and Payment for Hot Lunches is Here!

We're excited to announce that our school is now offering online ordering for hot lunches and other fundraisers including payment by PayPal/Credit card!  It is our hope that this will make things much easier for parents and volunteers alike and cut down on paper too.  While it may take a few minutes to set up in the beginning, we think it will be well worth the effort.  For those who still prefer paper copies we will make sure there are some available at the school office.

Getting Started:

  1. Go to ples.hotlunches.net
  2. Click on "Click Here to Register"
  3. Enter Access Code PLHL
  4. Complete the rest of the registration form.  (Including your email address will ensure you receive reminder emails about order deadlines).  Don't forget your password!!
  5. Click the "Register Now" button at the bottom
  6. Click the "Students" button at the bottom to add each child in your family who attends Prospect Lake Elementary.

Once fundraisers are added to the system you will be able to see them on the “Orders” page.

Any problems email prospectlakepac@sd63.bc.ca

PayPal:

You can either pay with a credit card as a PayPal guest (Visa, Mastercard or Amex), or set up your own PayPal account.

Cash and Cheques will still be accepted in the pink PAC box in your child's classroom.  Simply attach it to the paper order form or order online and press "print remittance form".  Attach payment to this form.

Please note: there is a $0.30 user fee for each transaction.  Planning ahead, by making multiple orders and for all your children at once, will cut down on costs.
