The PAC Executives would like to thank all families for their participation throughout the year. We are so fortunate to have a generous community of families to help make our school community a wonderful and inspiring place to be!

Warm thanks go to:

  • Our school staff and administration. We wish you all a relaxing summer with your families. Thank you for teaching and caring for our children.

  • Our outgoing PAC Executive who have given so many years of caring for our kids and our school. We wish you all the best.

We'd Love Your Feedback for the Prospect Lake Parent Handbook Project

Over the summer the PAC Executive, in collaboration with Prospect Lake administrators, will be putting together a handbook for new families joining the Prospect Lake Elementary community. This document will also serve as a one-stop reference guide for parents and guardians to use throughout the school year.

As seasoned veterans of our school, there are probably things you've learned along the way that you wish you had known when you started. Or maybe, pretend you just moved here from another country and you didn't know anything about how things work at Prospect Lake. Please share those ideas with us so they may be added to the handbook for the benefit of incoming families.

Here are the general sections we are considering so far (in no particular order):

  • General School Staff Information (Admins, Aides, Maintenance)
  • How to stay informed about school happenings
  • PAC’s Role
  • How Parents Can Get Involved (Volunteering opportunities)
  • Bell Schedule
  • Parking Info
  • Transportation (Bus info etc)
  • Before & After School Care options
  • Morning Watch
  • Signing In and Out
  • Calling Home
  • Report Cards
  • Home−School Communication
  • Classroom Reps
  • Buddy Classes
  • Library
  • Food Programs (Hot Lunch, Veggie & Forgotten lunch)
  • Lunch Supervisors & Monitors
  • Food Allergies
  • Birthday Treats
  • Lunchtime Clubs
  • School Athletics
  • Photo Day
  • Lost & Found
  • Recycling program
  • Emergency Closures
  • Emergency Drills
  • Earthquake Kits (Preparedness)
  • Special Needs Students (EA's & Support staff)
  • Medical Issues
  • Student Placement
  • What to do if you have a concern
  • Useful Community Information

Please send your feedback and ideas to your new PAC Communications Coordinator Victoria Santiago at prospectlakepac@sd63.bc.ca with the subject Prospect Lake Handbook by July 31st (but the sooner the better!) Any and all feedback will be appreciated!

We hope you all have a fun and relaxing summer break. See you in September!
