Due to the Emergency COPACS meeting tonight at 7 pm, the Prospect Lake PAC meeting will be cancelled. The COPACS meeting will be held tonight at 7 pm at the Saanich Education Centre (behind Keating Elementary).
The Saanich School Board has chosen to pass an unbalanced budget and contravene the School Act. All the Trustees have struggled between their desire to follow the School Act and their desire to do whatever they can to try to stop the yearly cycle of budget cuts.
The COPACS have had positive reactions from PACs regarding the funding formula information letter and the COPACS call to action campaign.
This emergency meeting will be used to get together to strategize on what the next step for COPACS could be, following the latest Board action. Your attendance at this very busy time of year will be greatly appreciated. Please invite anyone who is interested to discuss what Saanich PACs' next step should be to ensure pressure is maintained on the Ministry of Education to continue to move in a positive direction and correct the funding formula via the Technical Review Committee.
The Prospect Lake School PAC thanks all parents for their continued involvement and support of the school PAC! The new executive looks forward to seeing all interested parents/caregivers at the PAC meeting in September.
It will be great to see many of you at the Year end assembly on June 28th and the year end breakfast on June 29th where we can thank our Prospect Lake Executive and the many volunteers who give so much to the students at Prospect Lake Elementary!!
