Dear Prospect Lake Parents/Guardians
As many of you already know, the students at Prospect Lake have worked hard in our school garden and have produced a number of healthy vegetables, which we were able to enjoy at our last tasting event in September.
At this time, we have a bounty of fresh squash (produced in our garden) that has been picked and is ready for our students to enjoy, if they wish. Did you know squash is low in fat and is heart healthy?
Our second tasting event will be Tuesday October 29th. Students who wish to participate will be offered a sample sized portion of “Harvest Soup” and a sample size piece of roasted squash. In addition, they will be offered fresh carrots compliments of the BC Fruit/Vegetable Program.
The following is a list of the ingredients we need to make a delicious pot of Harvest Soup. Please have your child bring in one item on Monday October 28th.
- Brown sugar
- Black pepper
- Coloured bell peppers
If you are able to help prepare soup on Monday or help serve on Tuesday please contact Christine at email@example.com
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
