Info for Families
by Prospect Lake PAC - Sunday, 29 September 2013, 7:51 PM

Thanks to all who attended the first PAC meeting last week. The high turnout reflects how many caring families we are working with. Although Mr. Stinson's presentation went longer than anticipated, we felt it was important to have time to answer all questions. Our regular meetings will end by 8:30 and will have more time for discussion amongst parents, for the Principal's report and for discussions about school events and initiatives.

Thanks to the following people for their help:
-Kelly Curtis for donation of farm fresh eggs for the door prize
-Tirath Dheenshaw for donation of beautiful sunflowers for the door prize
-Shannon Eastman for her  "Extraordinary Cheese Dip" from Epicure Selections. Yummy. (This will be our November PAC fundraiser)
-Alicia Pine for her chocolate zucchini cake

A few follow up messages:
-Mr. Stinson referenced the well known and funny TED Talk by Sir Ken Robinson "Do Schools Kill Creativity?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG9CE55wbtY and shared information about the new direction the BC Ministry of Education is taking in BC http://www.bcedplan.ca/
-Mr. Guiguet welcomes all parents to be in touch with him about any ideas, concerns or suggestions. Please email or phone to make sure he can set aside time for you.
-Please make an effort to connect with your child's teacher. The results will be a better education for your children and a stronger school community.

Next PAC Meeting: Wednesday, October 16. 6:45 PM in the Library. Speaker : TBA.

Minutes will be posted shortly. Thanks again for your support.
