DRIVE & TREE CHIPPING – THANK YOU!!
We would like to send out a big
thank you to our PLES community. With
your contributions, we made $1,024 from the bottle drive and $75 from tree
chipping donations.
We would also like to extend an even
bigger thank you to the crew from Ascent Yard Care for volunteering their time and
services for the tree chipping.

On Saturday January 14, from 1:30pm – 3:00pm, the Parent Support Services Society of BC is hosting a free event for children ages 6 to 12 years old who are being raised in kinship care. The kindship caregivers are also invited to join us for coffee or tea during the event.

1. Help For the Hard Times Workshops: These run every month for parents and caregivers whose
children have been at the ER or have had a hospital stay for
mental health or substance use issues.

2. Family Smart's Topic in our January Education and Parent Connection Groups will
be Self Harm: There is Always Help, There is
Always Hope
Hear
Kim Leifso a clinical counsellor, and Ciara, a young person with lived
experience; talk about what they know and have experienced with self-harm. Come
together with other families to watch this 30-minute video presentation
followed by a facilitated discussion by a Family Smart Parent Peer Support
Worker.

We invite members to put forward nominations for the open positions on the Board of Directors which will be accepted via email until February 28, 2023, per our Bylaws and voted on during the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Nominations are open to regular members in good standing per Section 5.5 of our Bylaws. Candidates for a position on the Board of Directors must be nominated by a current member PAC or DPAC. Completed nomination forms must be received by email by midnight February 28, 2023.
