Prospect Lake Parents and Guardians,
As you may know already the school district has decided to
transfer Anita Ko to another school effective January 2023.
The PAC Executive reached out to the district
superintendent, Mr. Dave Eberwein, and requested an explanation for this mid-year
transfer and requested that the timing of the transition be reconsidered. We
believed it could be quite disruptive for the children and it would be better
to do it in the summer. Given the turmoil that our children have experienced
from the strike 3 years ago, to COVID, and the ongoing construction, we felt
that continuity was very important and should be a high priority when
considering a mid-year change.
Mr. Eberwein respond but did not agree to our request to
adjust the timing of Anita’s transfer. He was open to further dialogue but did
not give any indication that he believed this mid-year transfer would be any
more disruptive or have any more negative impacts than a transfer at the end of
the year would.
The PAC Executive will continue to engage with the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees on this issue. If you would like to express your opinions or concerns, you are encouraged to contact them directly:

In addition, the next COPACS meeting is this week. Superintendent Eberwein is usually in attendance, as is a Board member and there could be an opportunity to speak directly to them. The COPACS executive have us on their agenda for discussion, "Letter from Prospect Lake re: timing of Administrator moving".
