PLES CLOTHING ORDERS **AVAILABLE NOW**

Look cool while supporting your school!

Every year the PLES PAC offers a line of school clothing and grad wear.  All items feature our school logo while the grad items also have the grad year on the back, signed by the entire graduating class. You can order full zip and pullover hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatpants! They’re only available for ordering on the Munch A Lunch site for a short time. The order deadline is Saturday, November 19th - unfortunately, we cannot accept any late orders so please don’t wait!  Please note, placing clothing orders on a computer will be easier versus using your mobile device.

Since we can't provide samples to try on again this year, please click HERE to see the sizing information.

If any of the items you are ordering are for a Christmas present and you'd like to keep it a surprise, please make a note in your order, or email lindsaydavis15@gmail.com to notify us and to make arrangements to pick up your order. All other orders will be sent home with the students.

Below you will find some links to samples of the clothing available, and this PDF is of the artwork that will be on the clothing (the sample artwork is from last year but is still identical to this year's artwork).

Please note that only the Grad clothing orders will have the number on the back (23), and will be offered in 3 colours: red, royal blue and black.

TRANSPORTATION SURVEY – SAANICH SCHOOLS **CLOSES NOV 15**

The Board of Education is reviewing its bus transportation policy and is seeking your feedback.
The Saanich School District currently has 21 bus routes serving the 14 neighbourhood schools, as well as service for students with unique needs. Current Board policy includes the following guiding principles for the provision of bus transportation services:

  • Routes are established to ensure transportation for those students living outside the following walk limits by traveled road or walkway from the nearest school in their catchment area: grades K to 5 - 4.0 km; and grades 6 to 12 - 4.8 km.
  • Transportation routes are established to operate within the operating budget established by the Board
  • Programs of choice, including French Immersion, are maintained without transportation assistance from the district.
  • When necessary to address a concern of safety or to serve a district program catchment area, additional school transportation may be provided.
  • Consideration shall be given to providing service when a student is directed to attend a school other than the nearest school in their catchment area.
  • Courtesy riders (i.e. not otherwise entitled to bus transportation by policy) may be transported on existing routes only if additional capacity is available.
Please complete the survey here

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON POSSIBLE SCHOOL BUS INTERRUPTIONS

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Saanich Schools works diligently to provide consistent, predictable bus service to students and their families. Like many organizations in this current labour market, we are experiencing recruitment and replacement challenges in a number of areas. This includes district bus drivers.

To date, we have been able to replace drivers who are absent ensuring uninterrupted bus service. However, we want to take this opportunity to share that while we continue to prioritize consistent bus service, there may be situations beyond our control that result in the need to cancel specific bus routes if we are unable to replace a driver on a particular day.

If any bus routes do need to be cancelled, we will endeavor to communicate by email to affected parents / guardians by 6:15am on the day in question. In addition, we will post a general message to Twitter (@sd63schools) and on our Saanich Schools website.

Parents / guardians are asked to check their email and the school district website for any updates to bus schedules. Please consider developing alternate transportation plans for your child if we are unable to provide bus service on your route.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
Gord Bridges
Transportation Manager, Saanich Schools
