Tomorrow, Thursday October 20th, is the Subway hot lunch.
A few reminders for students participating in the Subway hot lunch:
- All of the Subway packaging needs to go home with your child. At Prospect Lake, we strive to provide children with litterless lunches, which means all packaging on hot lunch days needs to go home to be recycled and / or composted.
- Did you know Subway uses eco-friendly packaging?
You can recycle the following items: Subway cups, sandwich paper, bags, salad bowls and lids through the appropriate recycling facility (CRD at the curb or Hartland Recycling).
You can compost the following items: Subway napkins, sandwich paper and salad bowls.
All juice boxes can be saved for future PLES bottle drives or returned to a Return-It-Depot nearest you (paper straws are compostable and the plastic straw wrapping paper can be recycled through the recycling program at Harland)
- Please send your child with a nutritious snack and a water bottle.
PLEASE NOTE: If your child will be absent and
you would prefer to pick up their hot lunch or have alternate arrangements
made, please email Mrs. Blackwell at gblackwell@saanichschools.ca BEFORE
11:00am.
If your child is not participating in tomorrow's hot lunch program, please ensure you have discussed this with your child to help prevent disappointment.
