HOT LUNCH

Hot Lunches are Back!

This year we are using a new program for our hot lunches, MunchaLunch.  The system is ready for you to register an account.

Please access the MunchaLunch system HERE and follow the steps to register your new account.  A step-by-step how to register PDF can be found HERE for any additional support.

September’s hot lunch will be on Thursday September 22nd – Subway.

IMPORTANT: All orders for the Subway lunch MUST be received and paid for by Sunday September 18th at midnight.

A list of the year’s hot lunches and dates will be posted shortly.

Please know, the hot lunch program is intended to be a fun activity for the children, not a stress for families. If it poses a financial hardship for your family there is assistance available. Please reach out to your teacher, or Ms. Ko, to discuss the options.

If you run into any problems, please contact the Parent Administrator through the site under the "Contact Us" tab.

BOTTLE DRIVE ** VOLUNTEERS NEEDED **

Our first bottle drive of the school year is this weekend.  Please ask you friends, neighbours, co-workers and check your recycling - every bottle counts!  A complete list of acceptable returnable empties can be found HERE

Thank you to everyone that has signed up to volunteer so far.  We are still in need of 3 volunteers.  Students accompanied by adults are welcome to volunteer as well. This is a great way to support the school, meet new people, and have some fun at the same time.

PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC) MEETING

We would like to invite all parents and guardians to join us on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00pm for our first PAC meeting of the year.  Meetings will be held in person at the school in the Learning Commons (library).  When you join us, please enter the school through the main front doors, sanitize your hands, sign in at Mrs. Blackwell’s desk and proceed directly to the Learning Commons.  Masking is optional and choices are respected.  Doors open at 6:45pm with the meeting starting promptly at 7:00pm.

What is a PAC?  The Parent Advisory Council, commonly known as a PAC, is the officially recognized collective voice of parents and guardians in our school.

What does the PAC do?  Our PAC strives to represent the diversity within our school community as well as contributing to the benefit of all students. We strive to maintain positive relationships with school administrators and staff.  Throughout the year the PAC may host whole school events, fundraisers, and other activities with the goal of providing enrichment for the students.

Why attend a PAC meeting? Every parent and guardian of a student registered at Prospect Lake Elementary School are members of the PAC and are eligible to participate in our monthly meetings.  Our PAC meetings are a forum to discuss matters affecting the school and the education of our children.  Parents’ voices are a tremendous value to our school as they offer a wealth of ideas, knowledge, and support.  At our monthly meetings, the principal and / or vice principal, will be in attendance to provide us with a school update.  They are also available for questions and discussion.  Upon their departure, the PAC president will facilitate the evenings agenda.  There are topics available for discussion, voting, new ideas, etc.

We are hopeful to see new faces at our September meeting.  If you are unable to make this month’s meeting, you are always welcome to attend another meeting throughout the year.   If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to connect with us at prospectlakepac@gmail.com

YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISERS

Please help us raise funds for our children and school with these ongoing fundraisers:

  • Please save your receipts from Country Grocer and your Canadian Tire money. Place them in the bucket on top of the wooden PAC mailbox beside Mrs. Blackwell’s desk
  • If you shop at Cobb’s Bread, please mention Prospect Lake School before you pay. 5% of what you spend comes back to the school.
  • If you shop at Peninsula Co-op or buy gas at Save on Gas, please quote membership number #79184

Please make sure to thank these local businesses for the support they provide our school.
