HOT LUNCH - LAST ONE!!

Wednesday June 15, 2022 - Subway (Lunch to accompany Beach Day)

Let's make lunch for beach day as simple as possible for the whole family!  Parents and students are invited to order their lunch from Subway.  Each lunch combo comes with a 6-inch sub, chocolate chip cookie, and an apple juice box.  Unfortunately, the supplier does not have a gluten free option available at this time; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To order lunch for additional family members joining in for beach day, just log on to the Hot Lunch Website and place their order under your child's name.  Your meal(s) will be delivered alongside your child's.

Order By: Tuesday June 7, 2022 at 9:00pm - no late orders available

GRADE 5 YEARBOOK

The Grade 5 Yearbook highlights moments of fun, friendship and learning documented by teachers and parents over the last six years, with a focus on this past year. The yearbook cost is $23.  Payment is due Sunday June 5th via the Saanich Schools website at https://www.studentquickpay.com/SAANICH/ .  If you have any questions about the yearbook, please contact Michelle McNally at mandmmcnally@icloud.com

VIRTUAL BOOK FAIR

We are having a Virtual Book Fair through Russell Books from June 6 – 12, 2022.  This is a great opportunity to support a local bookstore as well as our school library while getting your children some awesome summer reading materials.  You can access Russell Books’ fairs website to order from their hand selected, specialty stock of books online.  Or, you can head on down to Russell Books at #100 - 747 Fort Street for their full selection.  When purchasing in store, just let the cashiers know that you’re with Prospect Lake Elementary School.  More information about the event can be found HERE

SAANICH DISTRICT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TRACK MEET *VOLUNTEERS NEEDED*

Thank you to everyone that has signed up so far to volunteer!  We are still in need of 3 more adult volunteers to help support our Prospect Lake Staff and students while they participate at the Saanich District Elementary Track Meet.

Date: Thursday June 9, 2022

Time: 9:30am-2:30pm

Location: University of Victoria, Centennial Stadium, Meet at the Bleachers with Prospect Lake Banner

The school will have teachers in attendance to help remind students how to represent Prospect Lake and follow our school expectations (look after our self, others, and this place).  The teachers will also help direct students to their events.

Parents can help support by...

  • Encouraging students in the stands to be Positive, Safe, Respectful and Purposeful throughout the day.
  • Help monitor students stay within the set boundaries and a buddy system is used to go to bathroom.
  • Encourage students to get to their events once a staff member has let them know their event is coming up.
  • Remind students to pick up their garbage and keep our space clean.
  • Remind students to sign out with Mrs. Sinats or Mrs. Russell at end of day.

If you are able to volunteer, please sign-up HERE.  If you are not able to make the whole day, please list your available hours in the comment section.

STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCH

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, our Prospect Lake school families will host a “Family Favourites” potluck lunch.  This is our way to thank the over 40 Prospect Lake Staff for all the support and care they give to our children.

We are in need of families to prepare their family’s favourite delicious dish / dessert / side dish, and drop it off for the event.  We are also in need of help with set up, assisting with lunch service and clean up.  If you’re interested in volunteering, you can sign up HERE.

If you are preparing food:

  • Please drop your contribution off at the Prospect Lake Hall between 8:20-9:00am, or at the school gym between 9:30-10:30am on June 23rd.
  • Please aim to make a dish that serves 8-10 people.
  • Please include a note alongside your dish that includes the following information:
    • Your name / family name
    • The name and origin of the dish or any special information
    • The main ingredients or allergens
    • Any specific instructions about warming or serving
  • You can pick up your dish at the Prospect Lake Hall from 2:45-3:15pm the same day.

Thank you for your help in supporting the staff at Prospect Lake School!
