SCHOOL NEWS........
MARATHON MATH

We are excited this month for our whole school Marathon Math Challenge to promote Health bodies and Healthy Minds.  Mrs. Gregory’s class created a video for our virtual kick-off of the event on May 3.  We learned that running or walking gets your blood pumping and builds strength in your heart. Students are encouraged to move and exercise each day to help them focus and learn at school.

For the month of May, students can run/walk distances and try to achieve a distance of 10 km, half marathon 26 km, or a full marathon of 42.2km or more! We have two ½ km or 500-meter routes for the students to run.  Teachers help students to record their distances and there are plenty of real-world examples of math thinking.   Keep up the movement and exercise Prospect Lake!

Water bottles:  Please remind your child to bring their water bottle daily and on warm days come to school with a labeled hat and a layer of sunscreen.
