CARNAVAL de Prospect Lake

Tuesday, February 19th

Over the past few weeks, classes at Prospect Lake have been learning about le Carnaval de Quebec, the world's largest winter festival.  This celebration takes place for three weeks each February and has been a French-Canadian tradition for over 100 years.  To wrap-up our unit, we are holding le Carnaval de Prospect Lake, our very own winter festival, complete with Beaver Tails, carnival games, and traditional music. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 19th.

As a part of the event, we will build a whole-school ice castle. Please have your child bring 1-3 pieces of ice to add to the castle. These can be frozen in 750ml or 1L yogurt containers, ice cream buckets, or any other container with a lid.  You can add food colouring if you like.  Please mark your child's name on the container, so it can be easily returned.  The ice pieces will be collected in the undercover area before school.

Merci et Joyeux Carnaval!
