PAC Meeting

Please join us for our next PAC meeting on Tuesday November 13th. We will have a very interesting speaker joining us. Her name is Shannon Husk. With today’s technology impacting our families in both positive and challenging ways, it can be helpful to gain some insights and learn some tips around finding balance. Come out and enjoy a free interactive presentation around digital literacy and have any questions you might have around this topic answered.
Click HERE to view the agenda. Doors will be open at 6.45 pm for tea and cookies. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Scrap Metal Drive

There will be a scrap metal drive at the school on Saturday and Sunday November 17-18 from 10am-2pm.  Save up your metal to donate to the school. We will collect all metal, small and large: aluminum, brass, bicycle frames, door fittings, copper pipes, stainless steel, appliances, tools, extension cords, fencing, pots and pans, motors, lawnmowers, keys, aluminum window frames, motors, cars etc. Sorry no refrigerators or freezers.

Simply come to the school during those times and our volunteers will help you sort and unload your metal. For large items or big loads we will even arrange to pick it up if you won’t be able to bring it to the school. Please contact Dayton Hornsby at prosiding@hotmail.com to arrange for pick-up. Spread the word to your friends and neighbours!

If you would like to volunteer to assist with unloading or collecting metal please email prospectlakepac@gmail.com

Holiday fundraisers

We have some great gift ideas that we have put together for the holidays. Not only will this be easy online shopping for you, we will make some money along the way too, that will help us pay for the items on the staff wish list (for instance: two artists in residence, fieldtrips, science venture, home reading books, classroom funds). We hope that you will find something you like and help support our school. We couldn’t do it without you!

Your Child’s Art Cards

All our classes are busy working on art projects for our winter Art Cards. PAC volunteers will take a photo of your child’s art and make it into 5 x 7 inch cards. These high quality cards will be sold as packages of six and will include envelopes. They are a very special part of the holiday season for many school families. Prices are as follows:

6 pack of cards for $13.00 (all with same image of your child’s art work).

6 pack of mixed cards for $13.00 (a selection of art from different classes).

Order online at https://ples.hotlunches.net or pick up a paper order form at Mrs. Blackwell´s desk. Orders and payment need to be in by Friday, November 16.

Poinsettias and wreaths

This winter we are selling beautiful, locally grown Poinsettias to help raise money for our school programs. By purchasing a beautiful poinsettia or wreath, not only will you be spreading holiday cheer, you will also be supporting the many activities we support here at Prospect Lake!

QSP Magazines

You can order your magazines online year round. This is a great opportunity to encourage home reading with topics available to suit every interest for all ages.  If you’d like to share the online catalogue with friends and family, please go to www.qsp.ca/tools where you can email them a link or pick up another flyer in front of the office.  Even if you’re only renewing a subscription, you’ll get discounted prices plus our school will receive about $10 for each subscription - a huge benefit to all of our students!

Visit www.qsp.ca to order.  Our group online ID is 4297669

Halloween costumes

Next year we would like to organize a Halloween costume sale at the school.  If you have any gently used and washed costumes that you would like to donate, you can leave them in the box in front of Gabby’s desk at the entrance of the school.  Thanks in advance!
