Welcome back to school and Happy New Year to all our Prospect Lake families.  It is wonderful to see our staff and students back from the holidays with renewed energy and excitement for learning.  We have some exciting opportunities in January including a Mad Science afterschool program, Swim Club, and performances from Victoria Symphony.  

UPCOMING EVENTS...

January 8

Registration for Mad Science After school program at Prospect Lake school is open https://register.madscience.org/vancouverisland/afterschool-register.aspx

Tech and Nature: Six weekly science lessons children will learn about the natural environment and how that knowledgeinfluences the development of AI robots. They will explore Artificial Intelligence concepts and test variety
of robots.They will build exciting environmental take-homes to continue their explorations. Jan 30 – March 5 Tuesdays 2:55-3:55 K-5 (limited spots available).

January 15

Prospect Lake swim club practices begin. Gr 3-5 and able to swim 25 m. Please see Mrs. Schwann, Mrs. Sinats or Mrs. Lail for a form.

January 24

Kindergarten Information Evening, 7:00-8:30 pm @ Sidney Elementary, 2281 Henry Avenue, Sidney.  Click HERE for more information.

January 29

Non-Instructional Day (Students do not attend school)- Staff will be engaged in a whole district inservice around the New BC Curriculum.

January 29-February 2

Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2018 at Prospect Lake Elementary (or your neighbourhood school).

February 2 and on- All registration will take place at the Saanich School Board office 2125 Keating Cross Rd.

Jan 30

Mad Science afterschool program begins.


Colds and Flu We still are in Cold and Flu season.  We encourage everyone to practice good hygiene with frequent handwashing and to cough/sneeze into one's sleeve/arm.  If your child is unwell and exhibits symptoms of fever, vomit or diarrhea, please keep them home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.  If your child will be absent, please remember to call our Absence line or email for safe arrival checks.
