The Board of Education is pleased to announce that, following a nation-wide search, Mr. Dave Eberwein has been selected as the incoming Superintendent of Schools and Chief Executive Officer of School District 63.  Mr. Eberwein will replace Dr. Keven Elder who is retiring in July.

Mr. Eberwein has been part of the executive team at School District 45 (West Vancouver) since 2011, and currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Schools.  Previously Mr. Eberwein had worked in School District 41 (Burnaby) as a teacher, principal and district administrator.  During his time in education leadership, Mr. Eberwein has come to be widely known as an educator who consistently inspires system improvement using goal-setting, effective communication and collaboration.

Board Chair Victoria Martin said, "The Board is excited by the opportunity to work with Mr. Eberwein as he assumes this important leadership role for public education in Saanich and the broader community, following a distinguished line of superintendents in our district."

Mr. Eberwein has a Master of Arts (Educational Administration) degree from Simon Fraser University and Bachelors of Science and Education from the University of Calgary.

The Board looks forward to welcoming Mr. Eberwein to the district and community in the coming months and to having him assume his leadership duties in July.
