PAC Meeting
The next PAC meeting is tomorrow night, Wednesday, November 16th. You can download the agenda here. There will be a speaker – Prospect Lake Elementary School parent and Child and Youth Counsellor, Sam Beecher. She will be speaking about Childhood Anxiety and Resources. Tea and treats at 6:45, meeting starts at 7:00pm.
Grade 5 Fundraisers
The Bottle drive is on for Saturday, November 19th from 10:00am to 2:0pm. Bring in your bottles and cans to help raise money for the grade 5 graduating class.
Poinsettia order forms were sent home just over a week ago. Orders need to be received by November 21st. Contact Tianna Dupius if you have any questions or don’t have an order form tianna.dupuis@gmail.com.
Input on Superintendent
School District 63’s superintendent, Dr. Elder, is retiring. A search committee is collecting input from parents to help create a profile for a target candidate. They ask any interested parents to consider the following 3 questions and send their thoughts to sd63.superintendent@ipfmsearch.com.
What are the significant challenges and opportunities the new Superintendent of Schools will need to address?
What are the key criteria/attributes for the new Superintendent of Schools to be successful in the role?
Where do you see best practice happening in public education? Are there any leaders in particular you think we should be approaching?
Art Cards
Our classes are now busy working on art projects for our winter fundraiser. PAC volunteers will take a photo of your child’s art and make it into cards. Your child should have received a pink order form and brought it home. We need the orders in by next week to make the cards in time. We’ll send another reminder closer to the cutoff date.
Purdy’s Chocolates
Order forms for Purdy’s Chocolates went out this week. You still have time to order your Purdy’s treats for the holidays. The order deadline November 28th. If you’d like to order but have lost or misplaced your catalogue, please email the PAC or you may also order online by following these steps:

4. Shop for your yummies
Our school will receive 25% of the proceeds from all orders made under our group code.
