Tac Work Party: We’ll have another
Friday, May 27, Neon Spring Blast and Family Dance!: Mark your calendars for this evening of family fun and community building. We will need support from families with donations for the kids used toy sale, cake walk and for silent auction items. Details coming but please save your used toys for us and think of how you can support the silent auction with a donation.
Wednesday, June 8, Staff Appreciation Day: The PAC will serve a sit down lunch for all 40 staff in our school. We will be asking families to make salads and desserts for this event and kids will be welcome to bring in fruit and/or flowers for bouquets for all classrooms and fruit plates for the luncheon. Please let us know if you are willing to help with this fun event to thank our wonderful staff. We need a team of six keen people to take this forward. Community News
The Saanich Cycling Festival is back and taking place on Sunday, April 17th from 11-3. Cycle to any of the 8 Celebration Stations on the new family friendly route that highlights the beautiful cycling and trail systems within our District. Participants will be given a passport booklet at any of the Celebration Stations and you will collect a stamp at each station you visit. Once you have collected your stamps, visit the main celebration station at the Saanich Hall and turn in your passport for a chance to win a variety of prizes. MOTHERS HAM CASSEROLE
2 cups cubed peeled potatoes
1 large carrot, sliced
2 celery ribs, chopped
3 cups water
2 cups cubed cooked ham
2 Tbsp. Chopped green pepper

1 ½ cups milk
¾ tsp salt

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup soft bread crumbs
In saucepan, cook potatoes, carrot and celery in the 3 cups of water until tender, drain and set aside
In
the same pan or a skillet sauté ham, green pepper and onions in 3 Tbsp.
Melt remaining butter, stir in flour and gradually add milk, salt and pepper. Cook 2 mins or until thick, stir in shredded cheese, pour over ham and potato mixture, sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
Bake uncovered 375 degree F oven for 25-30 mins.
Makes 4-6 servings
