School News
Halloween Dance Success: We had a great time at this year’s Halloween Howl Dance and it was a success all around. Thank you to everyone in our school community! The PAC raised $550.00 from donations made at the door and the Grade 5 concession raised approx. $950 towards their Camp Thunderbird trip. Thanks again to everyone who volunteered their time, baked goods and all those who donated cash at the door. Our school community rocks!
COPACS Monthly Meeting: Thursday Nov. 5th 7:00 PM - Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils of Saanich meets the first Thursday of the month. Meetings are open to all parents in the district and are a great way to find out what is happening in the district and beyond and to connect with other PAC executive across the district. Meetings will be at the Saanich Education Centre. (behind the portables at Keating Elementary).
COPACS Policy 1100 Parent Involvement Meeting - All parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend. This is your opportunity to have your voice be heard by representatives from the School District level about the role of your PAC in our school.

Art Cards - Our classes are now busy working on art projects for our winter Art Card Fundraiser. PAC volunteers will take a photo of your child’s art and make it into 5 x 7 or 4 x 5.5 cards. These high quality cards will be sold as packages of six. They make great Christmas cards! Look for order forms to come home in the next 2 weeks.
Recipes & Tips
Apple School Snack - To keep apple slices from getting brown and yucky use an apple corer. After you slice the apple arrange slices back around the core and put a rubber band around it so that the apple looks as if it's whole. Once your child takes the rubber band off the slices should be nice and fresh and there's less waste.
