PAC Meeting
Please join us for our next PAC meeting in the library on Thursday April 16th. Tea and baking are ready at 6.45 pm, meeting starts at 7 pm. Family BBQ and Market
Have extra stuff cluttering up your house? Need to get rid of some toys that your kids no longer play with? Are you creative and need a place to sell your crafts? Do you make the best jam or have the most delicious baked goods and want to let others have a taste? Our Spring Family BBQ and Market is approaching soon.
What is the idea?
It is a fun event for all ages where you can either just show up with your family, buy lunch at the concession, browse the market and catch up with the other Prospect Lake families. Or you can order a table for $25 and display your delicious baking or jams, your beautiful crafts or any other items you would like to sell.
How do you participate?
If you would like to take part in the market, we welcome you to go online and order a table for $25. The market and BBQ will be at the school playground and field (in case of poor weather we will move to the gym) on Saturday, May 4th from 11-2. Go to ples.hotlunches.net to order your table. A table with your name on it will be provided on the field the day of the market, you just need to fill it up. Please be aware to take home any unsold items.
What is there to do for kids?
Kids can use blankets to present their items for sale. Or they can play at the playground or the field. Please be aware that parents must stay and supervise their children at this family event. No pets please.

Oh, and don’t forget…
At the same event we will auction off a reserved parking spot, for the whole 2019/20 school year. The reserved parking will guarantee you a parking spot at the front entrance of the school at drop off and pick up times and on school events.
Spring flowers/Mother’s Day hanging baskets
Want to get the garden ready for the summer, or surprise your wife, mother (in law) with a nice hanging basket? You can now order your spring flowers online. Go to https://prospectlakeelementary.growingsmilesfundraising.com/home to order your herbs, veggie plants or flowers. The order deadline is April 28. Flowers will be ready for pick up on Wednesday May 8th.
Hot Lunch
We’re still in need of three volunteers to help out with our hot lunch on April 26th. It’s a fun way to see the kids at their happiest while meeting the coolest parents too. If you’re available at 11:10 for about 45 minutes please consider signing up at PLES.hotlunches.net - if you don’t see the job listed it means someone else already beat you to it.
Staff Appreciation Day
A heads-up that on Wednesday, May 1 our Prospect Lake school families will host a “Family Favourites” potluck lunch to thank the almost 40 Prospect Lake Staff for all the support and care they give to our children. Volunteers will prepare food, set up and serve lunch to the staff. We will also provide bouquets of flowers for each classroom. We hope that children can bring in some flowers or greenery (from your yard is fine) to the school in the morning. We will need volunteers to prepare food at home and it bring to school. Look for an opportunity soon to sign-up to help at the event and to cook. Thanks PLES families!
