School News  

 

PAC Meeting: Come join us on Monday, February 15 at 6:45 PM at the school library for this month’s PAC meeting. We have lots to discuss including the upcoming Spring Fair, Musical and much more.

 

Reminders to all families: please bring in your raffle basket donations for the raffle to be held at the Musical on March 10. Donations due by Monday, Feb 29. Each class has a theme. Check with your Class Rep.

 

Everyone welcome: Come help us put covers on "learn to read" books for our kids. Every Monday and Wednesday after drop off in Multipurpose Room (Wednesdays) or library (Mondays).

 

Start hunting for neon items and outfits as we get ready for our big event of the year our Neon Spring Blast on Friday, May 27. Cake Walk, Family Dance, Concession, Giant Catapult, Toy Sale, Silent Auction and more.

 

SD 63 Public Budget Meeting will be Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m at Bayside Middle School - Multi-Purpose Room. If you want to learn more about how education funds are being allocated in our district, consider attending this meeting.

Attention Grade Five families!! On our April 18 PAC Meeting ROMS Principal Carly Hunter will join us to speak about how to prepare your kids for the transition to ROMS.

 

Community News  

 

Discover Tectoria is the Island's BIGGEST Tech Expo and will feature 100 exhibits including the Tech Tradeshow, Startup Alley, Research District, a Video Game Lounge, flying drones, robots, food trucks, science shows and panel discussions! And it's FREE for students and parents!

Recipes & Tips

 

VERY RIPE BANANA MUFFINS

 

¼ cup vegetable oil

1/3 cup granulated sugar

2 egg whites

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup (approximately) mashed bananas

    (2 or 3 bananas)

1 tsp. baking powder

1 cup unbleached flour

½ cup whole wheat flour

1 tsp. baking soda

¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

 

In small mixing bowl combine oil, sugar, egg whites and vanilla. In separate bowl stir together mashed bananas and baking powder.

In large bowl stir together flours, baking soda and walnuts. Blend together banana mixture with oil mixture and pour over dry ingredients

Stirring just until moistened. Fill greased muffin cups ½ full.

 

Bake 350 degrees     15-20min.

Makes 12

 

Add in chocolate chips and skip the walnuts if using them for school.
